ParkIt! Fort Wayne

Downtown Fort Wayne Parking Tips

Welcome to Downtown Fort Wayne! The first thing you need to do is find a place to park your car. We understand it may be a little bit daunting at first, but that's what we're here for! To make it a little easier for you, we have come up with a few tips to help.

Plan Ahead
Plan your route ahead of time by consulting our Current Parking Conditions map. Our cutting edge parking map, which is updated in real-time, will help you find the best route to your destination. Not only that, it is fun to look at too!

Look for on-street metered parking
Fort Wayne has one of the best parking meter systems in the country. Not only is there ample on-street parking, but it incredibly inexpensive with rates as low as $.25 per hour. Our parking meters take US coins and have a time limit of either 1 or 2 hours (8am-5pm M-F). A few meters have a 15 minute time limit for those business who might have requested it for the convenience of their quick stop customers.

But remember, after 5pm on weekdays and all weekend long, on-street parking is FREE!

(Handicapped spaces are always enforced. These will be indicated by the bright blue color of the meter)

Plan to walk
Although Downtown Fort Wayne has one of the best parking systems in the country, you may have to walk a block or two from your car to your destination. This is typical of any urban area and Downtown Fort Wayne has closer parking than you would find in most cities its size or larger.

Arrive early
If you're coming Downtown for a popular event, we suggest that you arrive early. The earlier you arrive, the better spot you will get. Downtown is a wonderful place to be, so when you get here early, enjoy a delicious meal at one of our fine restaurants or just take a walk around the block.

Be Safe
Downtown Fort Wayne is very safe but you still need to use a little common sense. Just like you would if you were at the mall or anywhere else, be aware of your surroundings and don't leave anything valuable in your car.

Stay alert
When looking for a parking spot, please stay alert of pedestrians, cyclists, and other traffic.
